8 Knowledge Points Of Air Source Heat Pump Heating (Part 1)

After years of research and technological accumulation, air source heat pumps have had a huge impact on the traditional heating industry due to air source heat pump of environmental protection, energy conservation, stability, comfort, multifunctionality, and long service life.

01 How does an air source heat pump operate?

The indoor air source heat pump adopts water circulation, and the end of heat dissipation can be connected to underfloor heating, radiators, and fan coil units. Air source heat pump absorbs low-grade heat energy from the air through low electricity and converts it into high-temperature heat energy required for indoor heating. The process is as follows: First, the heat pump host is powered on to absorb heat from the air. The absorbed heat is vaporized through the evaporator, compressed into high-pressure gas through the compressor, and then liquefied in the condenser. The absorbed heat is transferred to the water in the heating cycle through the heat exchanger. Continuously repeating this process, absorbing low-temperature heat from the low-temperature environment and converting it into high-temperature heat, which is then transferred to the indoor heating water, providing a continuous source of heat for indoor heating until the indoor temperature reaches the set temperature.

02 Where is the best installation location for an air energy heat pumps?

The efficiency of an air source heat pump is closely related to the ambient temperature and varies with changes in the ambient temperature. The higher the ambient temperature, the higher the energy efficiency ratio of the air source heat pump; The lower the ambient temperature, the lower the energy efficiency ratio of the air source heat pump. Therefore, the installation location of the air source heat pump host needs to absorb more heat energy from the air, usually in a place where it is easier to absorb heat, and the ventilation effect is good, which helps to absorb heat. Therefore, there should be no debris blocking around the heat pump host, which may affect the heat transfer efficiency.

Adequate heat exchange space should be left around the installation of the main unit of the air source heat pump, with 20-30 cm of heat exchange and maintenance space reserved on the left, right, and rear sides, and more than 2 meters of space reserved in front of the front fan. When the air source heat pump is heating, there will be cold air discharged from the heat pump host. If there are debris blocking in front of the fan, the cold air cannot spread quickly, and the heat will be difficult to gather around the heat exchange fins of the heat pump host for heat exchange, resulting in less heat in the air and affecting the heating effect.

At this point, it is important to note that you should not be afraid of low outdoor temperatures, worry about the low efficiency of the air source heat pump host, or worry about the heat pump host being damaged by freezing. Therefore, covering the heat pump host with a cover or warm item can actually affect the heat transfer efficiency of the heat pump host and pose a risk to the fan rotation of the heat pump host. The air source heat pump itself has frequency conversion technology and jet boosting technology, which can work normally in an environment of -25 ℃. Therefore, most users do not need to worry about the efficiency of the heat pump host (except when the outdoor environment temperature in some areas exceeds the maximum temperature that the air source heat pump can operate at). We need to ensure the normal operation environment of the air source heat pump, for example, when the snow around the heat pump host is covered, the surrounding snow needs to be removed; When there are many weeds around the heat pump host, they need to be removed; When there is a lot of dust, fluff, and oil fumes around the heat pump host, it is necessary to remove these substances.

03 How to operate an air source heat pump with underfloor heating for the first time?

There is a process of heating up the underfloor heating system. After installing underfloor heating in a new or old house, the heating time will be longer during the first use each year. After the air energy heat pump is turned on, the temperature of the heating system should not be set too high. It should be slowly increased to give enough time for indoor furniture, walls, wallpaper, etc. to adapt and avoid cracking and mold.

If the temperature of the indoor underfloor heating is set too high from the beginning, or even set to an indoor temperature that the heating system cannot reach, it is not conducive to the evaporation of indoor water vapor. The indoor heat will be more consumed due to the large temperature difference, and the long-term high load operation of the heat pump host will affect its service life. Even if the heating water temperature is set very high and the heating time is shortened, it still takes some time for the indoor temperature to rise to the set temperature. If the temperature of indoor heating gradually increases, the comfort, energy efficiency, and safety of indoor heating will be improved.

04 How to adjust the indoor temperature controller of an air source heat pumps?

Air source heat pumps need to control the temperature of the water supply in order to regulate the indoor temperature. If a water supply temperature of 50 ℃ is used and the indoor temperature is set to 20 ℃, the indoor temperature can be quickly reached; If a water supply temperature of 35 ℃ is used, the indoor temperature is also set at 20 ℃, and the time for the indoor temperature to reach will be longer. Therefore, the water supply temperature determines the time for indoor temperature to reach. Generally, when the water supply temperature is below 45 ℃, the energy efficiency of the air source heat pump host is relatively high, making it more energy-efficient to use. The indoor temperature can also be quickly reached, provided that the indoor underfloor heating is designed and installed according to standards. If the insulation of the house is very good and the water supply temperature is set at 35 ℃, it can also reach the indoor set temperature, and the energy saving is even higher.
