Types of Heating Radiators and Their Advantages and Disadvantages

The new type radiators can be divided into four categories according to their materials: steel radiators, aluminum radiators, copper radiators, and copper-aluminum composite radiators.

STEEL RADIATOR

Steel radiators originated in Europe and have a history of decades. They entered the Chinese market at the end of the 20th century. In 1987, the “HVAC Design Manual” edited by Lu Yaoqing, China Architecture Northwest Design Institute, especially recommended the use of SEMEM heating radiator products, which is a national standard. Atlas product. The appearance is beautiful, completely changing the rough appearance of traditional cast iron radiators; the thickness of the radiator is thinner, only 5 cm thick, which takes up less room space; the shapes are diverse, meeting the needs of modern people in pursuit of individuality; the colors are rich, adaptable to different Colorful home decoration style; light weight, small water capacity, more environmentally friendly to use;

The disadvantage is: if the internal anti-corrosion process is not adopted, the radiator will corrode and leak;

ALUMINUM RADIATOR

Most of the aluminum radiators sold in the Chinese market are extruded aluminum profiles and welded radiators. The welding point strength of products produced by some manufacturers cannot be guaranteed, which is prone to problems and water leakage. In addition, the aluminum radiator is not suitable for alkaline water quality, the reason: the aluminum reacts with the alkali in the water, and alkaline corrosion occurs, resulting in perforation of the aluminum material and water leakage of the radiator. Aluminum radiators are simple in shape and poor in decoration, and belong to low-grade radiators.

Compared with steel radiators, aluminum radiators are cheaper due to differences in raw materials and manufacturing processes; fast heat dissipation and light weight; disadvantages of aluminum radiators: alkaline corrosion will occur in alkaline water. Therefore, it must be used in acidic water (PH value < 7), and the PH value of most boiler water is greater than 7, which is not conducive to the use of aluminum radiators.

COPPER RADIATOR

Copper has the high strength of general metals; at the same time, it is not easy to crack and break; it also has a certain resistance to frost heave and impact resistance; the reason why copper has such excellent and stable performance is that the order of copper in the chemical order is very low. Only higher than silver, platinum, gold, stable performance, not easy to be corroded. Due to the strong corrosion resistance of copper pipe fittings, no impurities will dissolve into the water, which can keep the water clean and hygienic. Therefore, the medium copper pipe heating in the building is safe and reliable to use, and does not even need maintenance and maintenance. Copper pipes and fittings can still maintain their shape and strength at high temperatures, and there will be no long-term aging phenomenon. Under the conditions of high heat, high pressure, near fire and corrosion, users are always in fear of using other pipe fittings for fear of accidents. But with copper pipe fittings, you don’t have to worry about it, you can rest assured. Never corrode and durable.

Disadvantages of copper radiator: higher price.
